Don’t you love it when something just clicks? That’s exactly how I felt when I took on the role of Client Service Manager for Define Financial in 2018.
Logistically, my role is to manage and monitor our office operations, making sure nothing falls through the cracks. But I also see myself as our lead guardian of client care.
I especially appreciate our open office layout, with no closed doors. Every day, I get to learn from others, while contributing my own perspective.
If a process isn’t going as planned, we can team up quickly to correct it. And if the conversation gets too technical, I can jump in and say, “Hey, our clients won’t know what that means.”
Career Highlights
Like many of our clients, I have enjoyed a rich and varied life, and a satisfying career.
At first, I was a stay-at-home parent to my son, who is now a fish and wildlife biologist in Santa Rosa. After that, I became an admissions recruiter at a court reporting school, where I enjoyed interacting daily with so many different people and personalities.
A decade later, I shifted gears and joined a financial firm … right across the street from Define Financial. When serendipity led me to my current position, I was delighted to discover I could walk to the interview, bringing my financial office experience with me!
Personal Points of Interest
- California, by Way of Oklahoma: I was born in San Diego, but raised in Tulsa. Today, I consider San Diego my home.
- Pet Rescues: I adopted a rescue dog, Stella, part schnauzer, part pug—a “schnuggle.” Then I adopted Rocky, a cat who thinks she’s a dog and loves going on leash walks.
- Explorer: From a Huntington Beach cotton candy sculpture shop to a Scottish storytelling inn, my boyfriend and I love going on unusual adventures, near and far.
